Signs Your Roof Needs Repair After a Storm

A twenty-year-old roof with hail bruising across every slope is usually ready for replacement. The roof tells us what it needs once we’re up there looking closely.
When a Repair Is the Right Call
- An isolated leak near a chimney or vent, with the surrounding shingles still intact
- Storm damage limited to one slope or section of the roof
We won’t push a full roof replacement when a repair will hold up fine.
When Replacement Makes More Sense
- Shingles curling or missing granules across the whole surface, not just one area
- Multiple past repairs already patched into the same roof
- Decking that feels soft or spongy, a sign water has been getting in for a while
We also won’t recommend a patch when damage is widespread and the roof decking is compromised.
